A Russian drone strike on Bohodukhiv in Ukraine's Kharkiv region killed two people overnight, while shelling in Kharkiv city injured five more civilians.

Russian forces struck Ukraine's Kharkiv region over the past 24 hours, with the deadliest strike hitting the town of Bohodukhiv, where a Russian attack drone killed two civilians.

The strike on Bohodukhiv

A strike drone hit residential property in Bohodukhiv, a district center located several dozen kilometers from Kharkiv city. Two people were killed on the spot. Emergency crews and medics arrived quickly, but could not save the victims.

Shelling in Kharkiv city

The same day, Kharkiv itself came under attack, with a strike hitting the city's Kyivskyi district. Five civilians were reported injured. In total, seven people were hurt across the region over the past day.

A constant threat for border communities

Because of its proximity to the Russian border, Kharkiv region faces near-daily drone and artillery strikes, often with little or no air-raid warning. That makes everyday life in district towns like Bohodukhiv especially dangerous.

Why this matters

Each strike like this is more than a line in a daily report — it means destroyed homes, injured neighbors, and children who have lost their sense of safety. Volunteers Support Ukraine continues to support families and communities in Kharkiv region's front-line and border districts with humanitarian aid, helping those who live under the constant threat of new attacks.
