Ammunition has already arrived

Zelensky said Ukraine has already received urgent shipments of ammunition for the F-16s from Belgium and other partners, including Spain. He thanked Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever and the government for decisive steps in response to Russian attacks on civilians, adding that Ukraine must increase its capacity to shoot down aerial targets and protect people.

What it means for the air force

As of June 2026, according to Defense Express, Ukraine had roughly 39 F-16s after combat losses, supplied by the Netherlands and Denmark. The jets are used both to intercept Russian missiles and drones and to strike enemy positions along the front.
