Shortly after Donald Trump announced an «energy ceasefire», Kharkiv's power plant was hit, and Kyiv's energy infrastructure came under attack during the day.

Donald Trump's announcement of an «energy ceasefire» did not stop attacks on Ukraine's energy sector. The Presidential Office confirmed that Kharkiv's power plant was hit shortly after the statement, and late on 11 October another energy facility in the city's suburbs came under attack.

Kharkiv: energy facilities hit

The power plant in Kharkiv was struck after the «ceasefire» had already been announced, the Presidential Office said. Later in the evening, an energy facility in the Kharkiv suburbs was attacked again. Volunteers Support Ukraine keeps helping people affected by the war in whatever way its available resources allow.

Kyiv: the power grid under fire

Throughout 11 October, explosions were heard in central and outer Kyiv as the capital's energy infrastructure continued to be targeted. President Volodymyr Zelensky briefed European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the strikes on energy facilities that followed the ceasefire announcement.

Kyiv's position

Zelensky said Ukraine supports an energy ceasefire and is waiting for details from the American side, and that the Ukrainian army has received the relevant orders. Meanwhile, strikes on energy targets continued even after the ceasefire announcement.
