Russian forces shelled Kharkiv and 14 settlements across the region over the past day, according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, who reported the toll on the morning of August 30. Eight people were injured. Drones struck three districts of the city — Osnovianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Nemyshlianskyi.
Overnight, the enemy struck the Nemyshlianskyi district twice. The first hit landed in the courtyard of an apartment building, damaging five residents' cars. The second strike saw a drone hit the canopy of a fuel station, sparking a fire. In total, two fuel stations and six vehicles were damaged in the city over the day.
These overnight strikes are part of a longer string of attacks on Kharkiv and its region that continue almost daily. Rescuers and police regularly document the aftermath of such strikes across Kharkiv region, putting out fires and helping affected residents.
Despite near-daily shelling, Ukraine's second-largest city keeps living and working. Residents, utility crews and volunteers rebuild infrastructure again and again after every new strike.
