National Guard fighters have cleared more ground between Dvorichna and Zapadne in Kharkiv Oblast, bringing the total area retaken in this pocket to 13.5 km².
On the Kupiansk front in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine's defense forces keep grinding forward one field at a time. Fighters of the 23rd R.U.G. Assault Regiment, part of the National Guard's 2nd Khartiia Corps, have cleared roughly another 4 km² of ground between the villages of Dvorichna and Zapadne. Combined with the 9.5 km² retaken earlier, the total area liberated in this pocket now stands at 13.5 km². Volunteers Support Ukraine follows the de-occupation of Kharkiv Oblast closely and welcomes every returned stretch of Ukrainian land.
The advance near Dvorichna and Zapadne is part of a broader operation that Ukrainian units have been running in the Kupiansk district for more than a year, gradually pushing occupying forces away from Kupiansk city itself and the surrounding settlements. Troops cleared the terrain of remaining enemy groups and consolidated new positions, narrowing the options Russian forces have for infiltration attempts in this direction.
The operation was led by the 23rd Separate Assault Regiment "R.U.G.", part of the National Guard of Ukraine's 2nd Khartiia Corps — one of the formations that has fought continuously in the Kharkiv region since 2022.
