An overnight attack on Kyiv on October 2 killed one person and injured two; the Southern Bridge was damaged for the second time in a day and several bridges were closed.
Overnight into October 2, a Russian attack on Kyiv killed one person and injured two more. The enemy also struck the Southern Bridge again, following multiple drone strikes on the key crossing a day earlier, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. Volunteers Support Ukraine shares the summary because such strikes hurt both the residents of the buildings hit and the daily mobility of millions of Kyivans.
The main target in the Darnytskyi district was a 25-story residential building, where a fire broke out on the 24th and 25th floors after the hit. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, one person was killed and two were injured. The Air Force said the enemy used 108 strike drones that night, with hits recorded at 11 locations across the country.

The attack damaged the road surface, a bridge support, a guardrail and the protective concrete structure around the metro line. The Southern Bridge and the Paton Bridge were closed in both directions, and the Metro Bridge toward the right bank. Several bus routes were diverted via the Darnytskyi and Podilskyi bridges.

Earlier, on October 1, city officials reported that a metro train was caught in the blast wave of an attack on the Southern Bridge, and Green Line service had to be changed.

The latest night was not an isolated one: on September 30 a large-scale drone and missile attack killed four people and injured at least eight more, damaging residential buildings and energy infrastructure.

Volunteers Support Ukraine keeps helping people affected by the war in whatever way its resources allow, and offers its condolences to the family of the person killed.
