Drones Hit Ozon Logistics Hubs in Ufa and Orenburg as Smoke Rises Over Bashkortostan Refinery

Ukrainian drones struck logistics complexes belonging to Russian marketplace Ozon in Ufa and Orenburg overnight on Aug. 27, while smoke rose over the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim refinery. The campaign against Russian warehouses is now more than a month old.

Overnight on Aug. 27, Ukrainian drones struck logistics complexes belonging to Russian online retailer Ozon in two cities far from the border — Ufa and Orenburg — disrupting operations at the aggressor country's second-largest marketplace.

What was hit

The Ufa warehouse sustained partial damage and temporarily suspended intake from sellers; staff were evacuated and no casualties or fires were reported at the site. The Orenburg distribution center resumed operations but did not accept some shipments during the day. The same night, smoke rose over the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim oil refinery — a key Rosneft facility supplying fuel for Russia's military needs — following a drone strike.

Part of a wider campaign

This is neither the first nor the last blow to Ozon's logistics: since mid-July, drones have struck more than 20 Wildberries distribution centers across 16 Russian regions, and at least seven of the company's ten largest warehouses — including its main hub in Koledino near Moscow — have been knocked out of operation. Ozon, which only weeks ago benefited from its rival's troubles, is now facing the same pressure. NGO Volunteers Support Ukraine notes that this systematic work by the Unmanned Systems Forces steadily erodes Russia's economic capacity to fund the war.

Another target the same night

In parallel, strikes also continued on facilities tied to electronics and retail logistics deep inside Russian territory — another segment the Unmanned Systems Forces are deliberately knocking out of supply chains. Every such strike means fewer resources Russia can redirect toward rebuilding its weapons stockpiles.
