On October 4, a Russian drone attacked an energy infrastructure facility in Poltava region. About 22,000 customers were temporarily left without electricity, according to Vitalii Diakivnych, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

Preliminary information indicates the strike caused no deaths or injuries. Specialists from Poltavaoblenergo started restoring power right away. The illustrative photo above shows a typical power line, not the specific damaged facility.
It came just two days after another drone hit an energy facility in the region's Lubny district, leaving around 6,000 customers without power. Poltava region is one of Ukraine's key gas-producing areas and has been attacked repeatedly. In March, strikes on Naftogaz facilities there went on for three days in a row and killed one employee.
Russia has stepped up attacks on energy infrastructure before winter, targeting generation, grids and gas facilities. NGO Volunteers Support Ukraine continues to help people affected by the war in whatever way its available resources allow.
