At about six in the morning on 7 October, a Russian missile struck a five-storey residential building in Pryluky, in the Chernihiv region, and a large part of the structure collapsed. According to updated figures from rescuers and police, four people were killed and around twenty were injured, including three children; one person was pulled alive from the rubble. Early reports spoke of two dead and seven injured, so the toll rose as the ruins were cleared. Volunteers Support Ukraine extends its condolences to the families of the victims.

Besides the apartment block, the strikes hit a Centre for Children's and Youth Creativity and a local enterprise. Rescuers, police and medics are working at the scene, and the authorities urge residents to go to shelter immediately when an air-raid alert sounds.

Russia struck more than Kyiv overnight on 7 October. In Kremenchuk two people were killed and about seven injured; the mayor described the housing damage as some of the most extensive since the start of the full-scale invasion. In Oleksandriia, in the Kirovohrad region, a woman was killed and three people were injured in a strike on infrastructure. By Kyiv Post's count, at least nine people died across Ukraine overnight.

The Air Force and Ukrinform report that the enemy used ballistic and cruise missiles and over a hundred strike drones, most of which were shot down, but debris and hits still damaged 18 locations.

NGO Volunteers Support Ukraine keeps helping people affected by the war in whatever way the available aid allows. Every strike like this is a reminder of how much support and solidarity still matter.
