Combined Russian Strikes Hit Sloviansk, Izium and Kharkiv, Leaving One Dead and Many Wounded

Russian forces struck three Kharkiv-region cities in a single day — Sloviansk, Izium and Kharkiv itself — killing a 67-year-old man and wounding at least fourteen people.

Russian forces carried out a series of strikes across three cities in eastern Ukraine on 14 July, killing a 67-year-old man in Sloviansk and wounding at least fourteen other people in Izium and Kharkiv. Volunteers Support Ukraine notes that days like this one, when several communities are struck within a matter of hours, show how widely the burden of this war continues to be spread across the region.

Guided Bombs Kill a Man in Sloviansk

At around 10:00 in the morning, Russian forces dropped three FAB-250 guided aerial bombs on Sloviansk. A 67-year-old man was killed, his body later pulled from the rubble of his own home, and three other residents were treated for injuries on an outpatient basis. The blasts damaged at least fifteen private houses, four multi-storey apartment buildings, an administrative facility and four vehicles. Volunteers Support Ukraine is struck by how a single morning can turn an ordinary residential street into a scene of search and rescue.

A Residential Building Hit in Izium

The same day, a Russian strike hit a residential area of Izium, directly damaging a multi-storey apartment building and injuring four people. Izium, on the Kharkiv Oblast side of the front line, has faced repeated attacks in recent weeks, leaving residents with little respite between one strike and the next. Volunteers Support Ukraine recognizes how exhausting this cycle of destruction and repair has become for families who simply want to keep their homes standing.

An Italmas Drone Strikes an Enterprise in Kharkiv

In Kharkiv itself, a Russian "Italmas" attack drone struck a civilian enterprise in the Nemyshlianskyi district, injuring seven people and damaging a warehouse facility, while a separate strike hit a filling station in the Shevchenkivskyi district. Volunteers Support Ukraine notes that ordinary workplaces across Kharkiv have increasingly become targets, adding daily uncertainty to the lives of people simply trying to earn a living.

Standing With Communities Affected by the War

As Sloviansk, Izium and Kharkiv absorb the consequences of yet another day of coordinated Russian strikes, NGO Volunteers Support Ukraine remains committed to its general mission of helping people affected by the war in whatever way it can, with whatever aid is available. The organization does not claim to be responding to these specific incidents, but it stands alongside the broader effort to support Ukrainian communities across the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions as they endure this relentless pattern of attacks.
