The Bashneft-Novoil refinery was hit during the day on August 5 by long-range Lyutyi drones. A series of explosions sparked two separate fires at the facility, and according to preliminary reports, the fire reached the L-35-11/1000 catalytic reforming unit — one of the plant's key processing components. The Slavneft-YANOS refinery was struck overnight into August 6, at a facility located more than 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. It's one of Russia's five largest oil refineries, with an annual processing capacity of 15 million tons of crude. Monitoring channels reported at least three separate fire sites at the plant.
