On the morning of 6 October, Russian forces attacked one of the bridges across the Dnipro in Zaporizhzhia. The city council said the bridge was closed and traffic rerouted. Volunteers Support Ukraine has gathered the verified facts about the aftermath.

Two people were first reported hurt; the toll later rose to five. According to Mykhailo Semikin, acting head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the injured include two women aged 24 and 59 and a 36-year-old man. Two more, men aged 43 and 54, are Red Cross workers who were on their way to work when the attack caught them. Medics are providing all of them with the necessary care.
This is not an isolated case: over the past week Russia has struck bridges in central Kyiv several times. Dnipro crossings matter for everyday life in these cities, since rescuers, medics and volunteers use them.

Hits on transport infrastructure make it harder for residents to get around and for aid to be delivered. NGO Volunteers Support Ukraine keeps helping people affected by the war as far as its resources allow.
