"We have just spoken with envoys of the US president — Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. They are preparing for meetings and corresponding communication with the Russian side, as well as for a visit to Ukraine… We discussed what can be done to encourage Russia to move towards ending the war," Zelensky said after the call. He briefed the American envoys on the situation at the front, where, he said, Russian advances remain minimal given the country's enormous losses, and on the overnight strikes hitting Ukrainian cities. Witkoff and Kushner have traveled to Moscow at least eight times as part of the Trump administration's push to bring Vladimir Putin back to the negotiating table, yet neither has ever visited Kyiv.
