According to Ukraine's Air Force, 127 of them were shot down or suppressed by electronic warfare systems. The worst damage occurred in Marhanets, in the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk region, where a Russian drone hit a four-story residential building. A three-month-old boy was killed, and 11 more people were injured, seven of them in serious condition, including a 5-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. The news was reported by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration. According to the regional military administration, more than 20 strikes were recorded overnight across three districts of Dnipropetrovsk region — using drones, artillery, and an aerial bomb. Apartment buildings, a store, a cinema, a cultural center, and an agricultural enterprise were damaged. Regional prosecutors opened a criminal case under Article 438 of Ukraine's Criminal Code (violations of the laws and customs of war). The same night, other regions were also hit: two people were injured in Poltava region, one person was killed and four wounded in Sumy region. Chernihiv region was shelled 21 times, with a child among the injured. Six people were injured in Kharkiv region, and two in Zaporizhzhia region during this period. Volunteers Support Ukraine emphasizes that this spread of strikes shows no region of Ukraine is immune to overnight attacks, and the need to support those affected remains constant.
Despite the scale of the attack — 152 aerial weapons at once — the Air Force managed to neutralize 127 of them, shooting down missiles and drones or suppressing them with electronic warfare. That is a high interception rate that saves Ukrainian lives every night, even though no air defense system can offer complete protection against mass drone attacks. Volunteers Support Ukraine believes the work of Ukraine's air defenders deserves recognition, even when some targets, unfortunately, still get through.
