A missile strike on the centre of Chernihiv around noon on 29 October killed two 15-year-old girls; at least 23 people were hurt, among them four children, the youngest 10 months old.
Around noon on 29 October, russia struck the centre of Chernihiv with missiles. The State Emergency Service (DSNS) and the Interior Ministry reported that two 15-year-old girls were killed and that the number of injured rose to at least 23, including four children; the youngest is a girl of just 10 months. Volunteers Support Ukraine sets out what is known.

Kyiv Independent reported that the city was hit with Banderol cruise missiles. The Interior Ministry stressed that it was a strike on an ordinary street: houses, shops and cars were damaged and there was no military sense in it. Rescuers put out the fires that broke out after the attack.

Cars and premises burned at the impact site. DSNS photos show a burning car by the roadside, blown-out shop windows and a damaged passenger car with shattered glass.

Ambulance crews worked at the scene, and DSNS psychologists assisted 17 people, four of them children. Volunteers Support Ukraine offers condolences to the families of those killed and continues to help people affected by the war in whatever way its available resources allow.

The same day, russia also attacked Dnipro, where at least 14 people died at the railway station, and Kremenchuk in the Poltava region. All of these strikes hit civilians, and Ukraine is calling on partners not to ease sanctions pressure.
