At about 11:00 on 29 October, a russian drone hit a platform at the railway station in Dnipro, where a suburban train and a passenger train were standing. The President, the Interior Ministry, the State Emergency Service (DSNS) and the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration reported it. Kyiv Independent and Al Jazeera say the drone was jet-powered and that the train was preparing to depart for Zaporizhzhia. Volunteers Support Ukraine offers condolences to the families of the victims and sets out what is known.

Early reports spoke of 13 dead; later the figure rose to at least 14 killed and 14 wounded. On the morning of 30 October the regional military administration updated the numbers: 15 people were killed at the station, 10 men and five women. Eleven wounded people remain in Dnipro hospitals, six of them in serious condition, including an 11-year-old boy. A day of mourning was declared in the Dnipropetrovsk region for 30 October.

Police officers and rescuers evacuated the wounded within the first minutes and handed them over to medics. Doctors gave help to all the injured, many of whom have multiple shrapnel wounds. Volunteers Support Ukraine thanks everyone who saved lives at the scene.

Photos released by the regional military administration show a carriage body covered in shrapnel holes and shattered windows.

President Zelensky called it a horrific russian strike on the station in Dnipro and urged that sanctions on russia not be weakened. The same day, russia also attacked Chernihiv and Kremenchuk. Volunteers Support Ukraine continues to help people affected by the war in whatever way its available resources allow.
