More than 10 Shahed drone strikes hit five districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast overnight and into the afternoon of July 12, 2026, killing three people and injuring four in Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol district.
Overnight and into the morning of July 12, 2026, Russian forces launched more than ten Shahed drone strikes across five districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Three people were killed and at least four more were injured. The heaviest damage fell on an industrial enterprise in Kryvyi Rih and on residential areas of Nikopol district, and Volunteers Support Ukraine continues to follow the human toll these attacks leave on communities far from the front line.
The same industrial enterprise in Kryvyi Rih was struck four separate times over the course of one day: three strikes in the early morning, and a fourth around 8:00 a.m. that sparked a fire and triggered an emergency rescue operation. Two people were killed at the site, according to Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the city's Defense Council. Volunteers Support Ukraine notes that repeated strikes on the same facility within hours compound the danger for rescuers and workers alike.

In Nikopol district, one person — a 66-year-old man — was killed. Drone and artillery strikes also damaged an administrative building, private houses, an outbuilding, and a truck in Nikopol town and the Marhanets community. Volunteers Support Ukraine points out that strikes like these routinely leave families without shelter or their means of livelihood.

Hours later, in the afternoon of July 12, a distinct drone attack hit Nikopol town itself. Four people were injured — three men and one woman. A 44-year-old man and a 56-year-old man were hospitalized in moderate condition. A store and an unused building were damaged. The figures were reported by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration. Volunteers Support Ukraine observes that separate strikes on the same town within a single day underscore the constant threat facing the region's residents.

DSNS firefighters and medical teams worked at several locations at once — battling the blaze at the Kryvyi Rih enterprise, clearing rubble in Nikopol district, and treating those injured in the afternoon attack on Nikopol town. Volunteers Support Ukraine extends its appreciation to the emergency responders and medics who put themselves at risk every day to answer strikes like these.

Days like this one are an everyday reality for many communities across Ukraine. NGO Volunteers Support Ukraine continues its work supporting people affected by the war, providing aid in whatever forms and to whatever extent it is able. The organization remains committed to standing alongside these communities rather than leaving them to face such hardship alone.
