On 1 November, a russian strike drone hit the grounds of a vocational school dormitory in Koziatyn community, Vinnytsia region. According to the State Emergency Service, the Interior Ministry and Ukrinform, two people were killed and six more injured, children among them.

Vinnytsia regional governor Nataliia Zabolotna said a 13-year-old girl died at the scene and an adult woman died later in hospital. The first reports spoke of three injured: two five-year-old girls and a 16-year-old boy. The number later rose to six. Four of the injured are children, three of them aged five, one in serious condition; two adults, a man and a woman, have lighter injuries. Volunteers Support Ukraine extends its condolences to the families of the dead and wishes the injured a swift recovery.

According to the governor, the strike landed on the ground between the dormitory and an academic building. It set two cars on fire, which rescuers put out. Windows were blown out in the neighbouring dormitory.

Internally displaced people were living in the dormitory. All were offered relocation; by the time Ukrinform published, two families had agreed to move. NGO Volunteers Support Ukraine continues to help people affected by the war in whatever way its resources allow.
